Founder and Managing Partner

As the founder of Carington Insurance Services, Monica has an approach to business that is fresh and unique to the industry of insurance. She has created a philosophy at Carington which holds dear the idea of helping and caring for the people we interact with, whether they are clients, associates, employees, other business peers, or even just someone you meet. These may not seem like new ideas, but instead of simply paying lip service to “lofty notions”, Monica sees to it that Carington actually delivers.

Being of service to others was something Monica was exposed to early on and it became a fundamental aspect of her personality and is clearly exhibited in her attitude towards life. As a young girl of 13 she volunteered at Twelve Oaks Hospital in Houston, Texas and became a Candy Striper, devoting much of her young adulthood giving to others. She ultimately continued serving throughout her life, such as volunteering full-time at Sepulveda Veterans Hospital in the months following the Northridge Earthquake. In the last 10 years she has spent much of her time helping seniors through her association with the Santa Monica Jaycees Senior Care, Meals on Wheels, Project Angel Food and most recently at Los Robles Hospital here in the Conejo Valley.

Her extensive experience interfacing with the business community started when she began working as the Associate Publisher of the Brentwood News. There she met with and serviced the needs of business and community leaders in Brentwood, California on a face to face basis.

In 2000, she began her insurance career as a health agent but quickly became interested in life insurance and financial services. So she chose to align herself with one of the most respected companies in that field, New York Life. There she received a large part of her life insurance education, from who some say is the industry leader in training. Chosen because they were one of the highest rated companies, in business for 165 years and one of the few remaining companies that is owned by policy-holders (A Mutual Company), New York Life provided a tremendous foundation of experience in Advance Planning Life Insurance Strategies, Retirement and Estate Planning. The support and experience she got from her years working at New York Life have proven to be invaluable to the service of her clients.

Early in 2006 she decided to open Carington to further expand on her ideals and broaden the services available to her clients. Establishing a wide spectrum of related products and services, Monica has built Carington into a unique Boutique Style Insurance Agency that can meet almost any need.

The name Carington was born from the word “caring” and everyone who has met Monica knows that to be one of the single most dominant qualities she possesses—she truly does care and at Carington it is our pleasure to serve you.
